3 Ways To Make An Elopement Your Own

The Blog

I am here to remind you of elopement magic, FOREVER.

In my mind, elopement magic is the freedom to create a wedding experience that truly celebrates your relationship and the next chapter of your love story.

Elopements allow you to create a memory unlike any other – getting married to the love of your life in a way unique and specific to you. It is about embracing who you are and doing things that you both enjoy and love.

I want to talk about 3 ways to make an elopement your own in this blog post.

#1. Go Off The Beaten Path

Eloping allows for you to create your own journey – to do something never been done before or never seen before.

Do you love skydiving? Include it as part of your elopement day. Better yet, get married in the sky!

Do you love coffee shops? Ever considered getting married in one?

Love hiking? Hike to and from your elopement destination.

Now these may be more specific examples, but there are so many ways to make your elopement your own by embracing who you are and incorporating things you love.

#2: Include An Activity or Activities You and Your Partner Both Love

There are no rules when it comes to an elopement, so if you want to do the activity before, after or during your ceremony, the sky is your limit here!

Thinking of an elopement activity may feel overwhelming at first, but sit down with your partner and have an honest conversation about what you would love to do together and it gets less complicated from there.

Some ideas include packing a picnic lunch, going for a swim, popping some champagne, going for a hike, going camping, horseback riding, etc.

The list goes on and on but the answer of what YOU will do to make it your own is found in the question, “what do my partner and I love doing together that we would love to do on our elopement day as well?” or even the question of, “what is something we’ve always wanted to do or try but never have?”

#3: Include Little Details That Speak To You

You know what they say about “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.”

You can still include those details in your elopement day – again, there are NO RULES!

You can include your children , you can include items or pieces that mean something to you, or you can even include your dog

Personalizing your elopement will allow for you to feel like it is yours because it is unique to you and your partner and the people that you are.

I hope this blog post was helpful as you navigate planning your elopement. If you need any advice, or someone who has been there to give you some guidance, get in touch! I’d love to help you make your dream day a reality.
