The Best Of Perth: Free Elopement Locations

The Blog

This blog post will go over some of the BEST FREE locations (in my opinion, anyway) to elope in Perth.

Gnangara Pines

Location: Lexia WA 6079, Australia

At first glance, you wouldn’t think there is much too to behold here at “the pines” but beyond the first glance is certainly much magic to see.

The Pines covers an area larger than central suburban Perth – North past Yanchep and East to Bullsbrook. There is so much peace in the midst of the trees, and it helps you to feel as though you have stepped into your own world, just for your special day. The smell of the pine trees and the colours all around you are certain to set the stage for your magnificent elopement.

Bells Rapids

Location: Orlov Trail, Cathedral Ave, Brigadoon WA 6069, Australia

“Located in Brigadoon, this picnic and bush walking spot at Bells Rapids is a prime viewing area to see competitors in the annual Avon Descent White Water Race battle the rapids.

Explore the streams and waterfalls as you wander along the nature walks beside the Avon River. The area is not recommended for swimming. Access to the rapids is via a gravel road which leads to a car parking area. Dogs are permitted but remember to keep them on a leash.

Bells Rapids is also the habitat of the beautiful grey kangaroo which can be seen at certain times of the year in abundance. You will enjoy scenic views of the countryside and coastal plains on this unique circuit walk trail.”

Perry’s Paddock

Location: 1198 Ocean Reef Rd, Woodvale WA 6026, Australia

“Perry’s Paddock is named after John (Jack) Perry who bred racehorses and held race meets on his property at the site. The ruins that are still visible are the remains of his old stables and homestead. Part of the Yellagonga Regional Park, there are many walking and cycle paths that are open all year round.”

Booyeembara Park

Location: Stevens St & Montreal Street, Fremantle WA 6160, Australia

Booyeembara Park located on Montreal Street in Fremantle is gorgeous parkland with plenty of open space, bush land, walking circuits and a central man-made lake.

Directions – From the centre of Fremantle, take High St east until you reach the right turn onto Montreal St (start of the golf course). Follow this down to the roundabout where you will find ample parking.

The Walk – Booyeembara Park is located south of Fremantle Public Golf Course on Montreal St, where there is plenty of parking available for visitors. Entry is via one of several paths down to the paved circuit that forms the basis of the park. Right next to Montreal St immediately available is access to a grassed area and BBQ facilities.

Fish Market Reserve

Location: Swan St W, Guildford WA 6055, Australia

“A lovely riverside spot on the Swan River to have a BBQ or just take in the tranquil surrounds.

As well as being a popular picnic ground, it is a great spot for fishing or canoeing. There is a boat ramp suitable for launching small boats, canoes or kayaks.

Other facilities include a playground, picnic tables and BBQ facilities.”
