A question I’m often asked is “what else do we do on our elopement day??” Many big weddings have games, activities and a reception. With elopements, you can still enjoy those activities, just in a more intimate way. Here are some ideas you can fill your elopement day with.

Picnic ‘reception’

One of my favourite elopement activities! Even with the relaxed vibe of your elopement, it all goes by so quickly. Taking some time out after you’ve said your “I do’s” for an intimate picnic ‘reception’ is the perfect way to soak up your first moments as a married couple. It also ensures you don’t forget to eat! Pack some bubbles, cheese, crackers or even a mini elopement cake! Whatever hits the spot for you, bring it along.

Something fun you have always wanted to do

Have you ever wanted to go hiking on a specific trail, jump out of a plane or go jet skiing? Now is the perfect time to do it! What is a better way to remember your wedding day than to do something you and your partner have always wanted! It is a fun activity you can do together and start your marriage off with some fun.

Do an activity that holds a special memory

Did your first date involve painting, do you have a favourite restaurant, or is there a special place that you met? This is the time where you can relive those memories as a newly married couple! Reminiscing good times that led you to this moment.

Pop champagne, confetti or light some sparklers

You have just made a big commitment to spend forever with your love and it needs to be celebrated! You found the Kate to your Will, the Blake to your Ryan and the Michelle to your Barack. Pop some champagne, like really pop it, spray it at me for some epic photos! 😉 Let’s throw some confetti (eco-friendly of course) or light some sparklers, all put a smile on anyone’s face and make for some Insta worthy images!

Have your first dance!

If you’ve always dreamed about your first dance as a married couple, then this is your moment. Pop your favourite song onto the Bluetooth speaker and share your first dance! You’ll have the most intimate and unique first dance of all your friends, and memories to last a lifetime.

The most important thing to do is to enjoy your day. This list is just a suggestion on things you can do, but really, the possibilities are endless!
