This blog post will cover the best of the best (in my opinion!) in a guide to help you elope here in this beautiful place of Perth, WA.
WHERE
Choosing WHERE to elope is kind of the main event of an elopement – picking a place in Perth can feel simple and overwhelming all at once, considering the many beautiful places and spaces to choose from. I have written two blog posts on venues and locations, so be sure to check them out!
Gnangara Pines
Location: Lexia WA 6079, Australia

At first glance, you wouldn’t think there is much too to behold here at “the pines” but beyond the first glance is certainly much magic to see.
The Pines covers an area larger than central suburban Perth – North past Yanchep and East to Bullsbrook. There is so much peace in the midst of the trees, and it helps you to feel as though you have stepped into your own world, just for your special day. The smell of the pine trees and the colours all around you are certain to set the stage for your magnificent elopement.
Bells Rapids
Location: Orlov Trail, Cathedral Ave, Brigadoon WA 6069, Australia

“Located in Brigadoon, this picnic and bush walking spot at Bells Rapids is a prime viewing area to see competitors in the annual Avon Descent White Water Race battle the rapids.
Explore the streams and waterfalls as you wander along the nature walks beside the Avon River. The area is not recommended for swimming. Access to the rapids is via a gravel road which leads to a car parking area. Dogs are permitted but remember to keep them on a leash.
Bells Rapids is also the habitat of the beautiful grey kangaroo which can be seen at certain times of the year in abundance. You will enjoy scenic views of the countryside and coastal plains on this unique circuit walk trail.”
Perry’s Paddock
Location: 1198 Ocean Reef Rd, Woodvale WA 6026, Australia

“Perry’s Paddock is named after John (Jack) Perry who bred racehorses and held race meets on his property at the site. The ruins that are still visible are the remains of his old stables and homestead. Part of the Yellagonga Regional Park, there are many walking and cycle paths that are open all year round.”
WHEN
Choosing when to elope, especially in Perth, is kind of a big deal. My professional recommendation?
September-November or February-April. And best time? Midweek. Less crowded and more privacy, especially at places like hiking trails or outdoor spaces.

“I’m an enthusiastic wife & mum of 3, with a background in fashion & dressmaking.
Born in South Africa, I travelled and worked in London before settling down in Perth.
After working in fashion & creating gorgeous couture wedding gowns for 15 years, I was inspired to try another creative avenue, that would challenge me all over again.
This is when I made the move into floristry and established “The Petal Shed” in 2016.
I’m blown away by how much I love working in this space, using seasonal flowers and supporting local growers whenever possible.
At The Petal Shed studio we are always on the lookout for the most up to date blooms and arrangements, to ensure we are at the forefront of industry design and concepts. Most importantly, it’s all about the 1 to 1 service, making your experience memorable and individual like you.”
